Just because you are heading into your 60’s, life shouldn’t have to stop. You shouldn’t have to suddenly find all new activities just to stay active. The fact is that you did everything you were supposed to. You were a good athlete, a good parent and now you are experiencing aches and pains as a thank you.
It’s discouraging when you can’t find the right answers and it feels like nothing is designed specifically for your limitations / situation. It feels like your body has betrayed you. But you know there’s a way to get back into the game – you just need to find answers.
What does not doing anything cost you?
By letting the aches and pains stop you from staying in the game / on the court …. Mobility limitations, aches and pains will not go away and certainly not improve. Because of these issues the risk of falling at home or while taking care of grandchildren increases.
Don’t you want to be in the middle of the game (activity) instead of being the armchair quarterback? Aren’t you tired of avoiding being involved in a community of other active people.

Exercising on a regular basis will help get you back on the court / back in the game / without needing to take a two week break recovering from aches and pains. It will help you build the endurance to play 18 holes of golf or the entire pickup basketball game. You’ll be able to sign up for that senior team knowing you’ll be a welcome addition and you’ll be able to contribute more to your family and the community. Won’t it be great to feel more confident, energetic and exited to live life fully.
I’ve been in your shoes. As an ex-athlete, I thought being active in my 60’s wouldn’t be any different than being active in my 30’s, 40’s and 50’s.
But that isn’t true. I had to learn a new way of moving. As a personal trainer and health coach, I’ve guided over 1000's of clients to get back to the activities they love with exercises and modifications that help you feel more athlete than ex-athlete.
